DISH Network is a direct broadcast satellite service that provides satellite television, audio programming, and interactive television services to households and businesses in the United States. DISH Network was launched in March 1996, and, along with DirecTV, primarily competes with cable television providers throughout the United States. They are registered as a Nevada corporation. The corporate office is based at Meridian, Colorado, though the postal designation of nearby Englewood is commonly listed as the company's location in corporate filings and news accounts. DN offers nearly 175 local network markets for its subscribers, resulting in nearly 97% of their subscribers receiving local programming. The cost for local programming is only $5 per month for an unlimited amount of televisions. No additional antenna is needed to receive this type of programming either. Convenience is important with Dish Networking. Another feature that many subscribers enjoy is the large variety of international programming available. Much like traditional cable television services, you can put parental controls on your television and set timers to record your favorite television shows as well. Nothing is compromised with a satellite TV subscription, just increased quality for a lower rate. Much like cable TV, equipment rentals are included in the bill each month, however Dish Network prides itself on keeping these costs low to continue to give subscribers better quality for a continued low price. |
